Good morning,
I'm reopening this post because I'm trying to install the Automatic AC control. Mine is a 120d 2012 Msport.
I've tried to change the panel from manual (64119287339) to the automatic one (6411938404:cool2:. I installed it and without coding it isn't working. There's a led on in the center of the air control leds, and another 2 on the right heated seat.
I tried coding from IHKR to IHKA_1Z, but the problem remained, also the keys aren't working correctly, it seems when I click the left heated seat control, it turn on the air.
Is there anything else to add? I heard that is needed another climate control unit before 2013. Is it true?
I mounted the manual and coded, now it works, but I want the automatic one.
Do I need an adapter?
Thank you for help
I had exactly the same problem.
You need a control panel from pre 2014 vehicle as your car is not kcan2 and it won't work.

Thank you, in fact behind the part there's a date, I think the production date, as you can see in the photo is on 2015.
So you are telling I need to buy a part which is older, I think about 2012-2013, of the pre LCI. Correct? Then I code as I did and it works, isn't it?
Thank you.

Yes.
My part came from 2013 F30 and worked right away. Anything else post 2013 I tried installing had centre fan light illuminated and no coding was able to fix it. L

Hi Igor,

Yes you need an earlier model auto climate panel. We've got an F20 from the same year so it will be the same as mine. - I'm currently in the process of selling my F20 so I'll PM you.

I need help from you guys... would you be so kind to tell me will this retrofit work on my ac panel unit? It is a BMW F20 116i Sport from 2012 (vin: e908495) and looks exactly like this, original photo:

I found the upgrade unit online from 2012 F30 and before I order it, I just wanted to make sure will it fit, since I saw in the first post on this thread, his original unit (before retrofit) had the AUTO button just like on the upgrade unit, and mine doesn't have it originally. Instead of the AUTO button mine has this snowflake logo. Help me out on this one please.

I just retrofitted the control panel and coded it.
I have a question to the function.
When i turn the control to the windshield or upper side and press AUTO it turns after 1-2 sec off.
Only when the air is on all side active upper side, middle and bottom side the AUTO button works

Is there anything else to code or retrofit?

My Car F20 2011 and the panel is from a F30 2011

Hello. I am looking to do this to my 2014 BMW116d. I bought a control panel off a 2016 f20 but it just has the green light of doom. Could someone clarify which unit I need as the post with them listed describes newer ones? If the post of the first page is anything to go buy I would say it's 64119384046 but could someone who knows more confirm?

I thought it would work because. I read it as if your car is 2013 or newer it would work with any 2014+. I wonder if mine is a 13 model where it was registered in 2014? Is there a way to check in the vin?

Anyway any help would be great. Many thanks.

Not sure about the panel but while you're waiting for confirmation you can check your build date with your VIN here

Late update.

IT'S ALIVE!

All in all it's a straight swap and a FDL recode of IHKA | 3000 | KLIMA_SG_ART from IHKR => IHKA_1Z

Best ÂŁ50 i've spent.

I wasn't very sure with the initial findings in terms of coding but then stumbled onto a guy's mission of doing his f20 which covers pretty much everything all of us would most likely retrofit.

right click ->translate is your friend in chrome

Cheers,
Florin
Great that it worked for you like that! Does anyone know the solution when with the above esys coding, the 1Z climate control panel still doesn’t work on a pre-lci f20 (2013)? The buttons barely react when you push them and the AUTO function doesn’t work neither. Seat heating is having its own life as well. I tried the climate control panel on a with 1Z climate control equipped F20 lci (201:cool2: and it worked straight away. Just to double check it, I have tried the original panel from the lci f20 also on the pre-lci f20, but the same malfunctions occur. Hope somebody got an idea what may cause the problem. Maybe adding an option code to the VO?

So I've decided to give it a go and code it all on my own. Done everything. Coded my start-stop system to remember last setting.
Then I started doing my aircon panel. I managed to code it, fitted it and... no success. It doesn't do anything.
Only the middle light above the fan speed buttons is illuminated and that's it. Can't do anything. Can't change fan speed, temp, nothing.I tried IHKA_1Z, tried also IHKA_2Z but still nothing.
Could it be that the panel itself is damaged? Or maybe it's not compatible with my car at all? What is your panel part number? Mine is BMW 6411 9384046-01

Any ideas? Thanks
I got exactly the same and I am very curious about the outcome.
