I bought a car from a dealer a few weeks ago but it has broken down three times.

The car sometimes starts perfectly but 50% it turns over but very very slowly but eventually fires up. It is worse with the stop start function.

When it fails to start I get Starter failed message on the dash. (picture attached)

Today central locking wouldn't work and the windows wouldn't go up either

I have replaced the battery but It has not changed anything. (It has not been coded in either)

Someone said maybe a grounding fault.

any suggestions would be appreciated

I would go with an earth fault.
Yes the new battery should be coded but a fully charged new battery should not stop the car from starting.
Coding the new battery alters the way it charges it, will still charge it though if it’s not coded but may shorten the new battery’s life.
First thing to try though is put a charger on it, get it fully charged and see what happens, if the problem is still there check all connections going to the battery and earth points.

I have had exactly the same problem for a couple of years now, last week it has broken down completely! Very frustrating! The car hates many short journeys in a short space of time. All the dash lights and electrics all seem to come on when you first press the start button so don't think its the battery. waiting to get it towed to a garage now to hopefully get it sorted.
