Hoping for some advice on some alloys I already have (from a previous BMW) - they're sat in my shed with winter tyres already on and hoping they'll fit my 2012 M135i without rubbing problems etc.

They're 18" - 8" width ET42 with 225/40 R18 tyres on - have tried the online wheel offset calculators etc; just gauging opinion here for extra peace of mind!

They sound perfect, in theory. You're going to need to carefully trial fit a front and a rear, just to double check they clear the calipers.

I know a few have E series alloys on F series cars as winters etc
but is it backwards compatibile also

Will f20/f30 wheels fit E82

Is the difference in bolt size an issue?

I wasnt saying I'm buying them, but I like the look, I'm dropping down to some sort of 18s as long as they fit over the my brakes,
If not I'll be dropping down on brake sizes also

Hopefully without spending a fortune

While searching for pictures of wheels to determinate which wheels I want to drive for the summer, I noticed I never contributed to this thread with pics of my wheel setup

Summer

-Eibach lowered
-OEM wheels
-Sottozero 225/40-18 square
-lca/ts mod
-spacer 12mm rear axel

I think it's good to see that when driving with the M4 lca's up front, the rears sometimes can use a little bit of spacer :)

Hey i just bought used F20 and im going to get better looking wheels for summer.

I have been thinking of:
BBS SR
8x18 ET 44

Is there any issues with this or is it perfect fit?
Car has M-sport suspension

Tires will be all 225/40 or maybe 245 to rear.

They sound fine. :)

Is going with wider rear tyres mostly for looks or is it ok to go with 225/40 all around? (cheaper and easier that way).
Maybe stupid question but i have never had a car with different size tyres.
Give us a clue which engine you have? How much torque you're putting down?
