I hope you don't find what I found under my back seats........lots and lots of broken glass!

Looks at the windows thereafter and there are two different makes - the car has clearly been in a crash at some point. It was purchased from BMW approved used as well.

Took the door panels off and they were full of glass too!

As said they bottom seat pad just unclips and pulls up.

Just a quick update for people searching this in the future.

I didn't find any glass or money. I also didn't feel it was significant weight removal on taking the seats base out so will leave them in. Didn't remove the seat backs as they don't seem as heavy as they were in the Audi.

There's a word for posting on antique threads, but I can't remember it!

Just wanted to share my total relief at finding the seat just unclips. What possessed BMW to have clip covers for baby seats that don't cover all the hole for the fixing?!? They're level with the seat pretty much - people with young children must have hordes of stuff under there!

I decanted a work camera-card onto my back seat yesterday and forgot to pick it up. Got home and went desperate thinking it was gone!

Thankfully I figured it must be under the seat but couldn't see how to lift it - it is much more secure than cheaper cars and I seriously thought it was permanently mounted to the bodywork. But one good yank and up it came, the little blue bugger showed itself :D Now i don't have to go back to Bangor to take pictures of mould.

hope it's as easy to fit back securely again! thanks guys :) :) :)
