Had the car a 118d for 2.5 years . Been a great car . I’ve done a fair bit of kerbing with the alloys😱and gonna change them . Ive been looking online and see a nice set on alloy wheelbase . Question is would I get away going to a 17 inch alloy with 225/45/17 tyres and even possibly a 225/50/17 tyre with the Msport brakes 🤔looking for a bigger side wall due to the ride and hoping to make it more comfortable in my old age 😁cheers Bigal.

Depends what year your car is. The E8x 1er came with 17s as standard. If you can take your existing wheels off and measure the radius at the brake calliper you can do a number of things to ensure it fits
a) tell the wheel supplier the minimum barrel size that will fit
b) ask for the barrel size and make your own decision
c) i think I had something else when I started this list but I can't remember it

Another option is tell them the car details and they should know, or at least accept returns if it doesn't fit

Give them a call, if you speak to the right section they know quite a lot and can reel off ET's to suit various set ups as well as other things. I've had wheels from them in the past and recently spoke to them about some new alloys, what they told me checked out after the call. I'm still deciding on wheels but they narrowed it down for me.

Yeh thats probably the best bet. Bought winter wheels from them a few years ago for my 320d xdrive and they were very good . Knew actually what was needed . That was going from 19s down to 18s with the Msport brakes . They sure do look nice on the car but cause some amount of hassle them bloody blue brakes 🤣🤣
