Hi Peeps

Need a little help here please, when starting up this morning my nearside headlight light flased on and off 3 times after that dipped beam came on alomng with the front fog lights,I then had a error show up in the form of the dipped beam light, I do have the factory fitted angel eye lights with the headlights that move when sterring,

Dipped beam worked fine along with main beam whist travelling to work this morning

Any ideas people

The lights perform a check test on each start up, so they will flicker slightly to make sure they work ok.

But you say the error come up, do you have idrive? Also what model and year as there is a common fault with the motor that turns the lights left and right (adaptive lighting I think its called) and when they goes, it causes a warning to come up but the lights will still work ok. My E87 did it.

Yeah id go with the adaptive light controller/motor being at fault. It should come up on the dash with the pic of the lights after about 15 seconds from ignition on?

You can have it coded out so it deactivates the adaptive lights and it wont affect operation of the lights in general (main and dipped beam etc) just they wont move anymore.

There is a little motor that's under the lights that gets water ingress and goes pop :(

It could be:

Blub,
Ballast,
FRM,
Adaptive motor

I'd probably start by swapping the bulb with the other side and seeing if it moves with the bulb.
