M performance bump stops

Looked at my rear suspension other day and noticed my rear bumps are in pretty bad shape.

They are still all there but cracked and holes in them and look in their way out

Do you think I would notice any difference at all by just getting new m performance shorter ones?

I don't want to make the back end feel sloppy and worried that although it may stop a bit of voice, when cornering there will be more roll.

Maybe I should just do it when I get b12 instead of right away?

We call them 'bumpstops' on here, but they're actually secondary elastomer springs and (rightly or wrongly) form part of the suspension.

For full height suspension you need full length bumpstops, fitting inactive shorter versions with standard ride height will obviously give you more rear bodyroll. Lowered 1ers seem to work better with shorter versions like the E60 5 Series ('Dinan Performance') versions (or M Performance versions).

If you're taking it all apart anyway, might as well fit B12 and new bumps at the same time?

That's strange I though they lowered the same front and rear. I'm quite happy with that as I don't want to drop the front much but the rear sits too high for me.

So that's perfect. Wish it didn't lower the front as much as 9mm.

Think I'm gonna have to take the maxton splitter off. It's already near the ground as standard.

2 options, both OEM, MP refers to above

1. F series MPS 4 bumpstops; part no. 33502411196 "Auxiliary damper kit"
Part number for front bumpstop from M Performance Suspension kit (passive) for F2X: 31336859768
Part number for rear bumpstop from M Performance Suspension kit (passive) for F2X: 33536859769

2. Dinan Supplementary Ride Quality [aka bumpstops] are actually a combination of the following oem e series 3 & 5 series parts.
The bumpstops Dinan uses for their "Supplemental Ride Quality and Handling Kit." are as follows:-

Front part #: 31331138814

Rear part #: 33536762722

#2 above is probably better and cheaper too

blow the dust of an old thread here, had my bump stops changed last week on my F21 118D M-Sport, ever since the suspension feels extremely hard, the car used to go over speed bumps etc and soak them up almost like they weren't there, now it nearly puts my back out and the car just doesn't feel right.

I rang the garage and they say they are 100% the right ones and they measured them and they were exactly the same size.

Do new bump stops take time to bed in?

The part they fitted was 33536858240

Thanks

Hey all đź‘‹

Just seen this resurrected thread,
Just thought it should be mentioned for people from the future reading this that when buying and installing the Bilstein B12 damper and spring kit No bumpstops are supplied.
You will need to buy Rear only (Mperformance/e60) as the Bilstein front dampers have an internal 'bumpstop' built in the damper itself.

You dont need new bumpstops for the rear with b12 kit, the standard ones are fine.
