LCI climate control panel in pre LCI?

Not sure if this has been done, but wondered if anybody had fitted the newer climate panel to pre-LCI M135?

Pic of what I mean below. Just looks smarter and more modern with the white visuals rather than orange. And the gloss surround is nicer too (matt on mine).

Would it be a case of straight swap, plug and play? Or is it not possible?

It is possible but only in cars manufactured in March 2014 or later.
IHKA3 module is required.

Installation is easy, just change the panel and code.

Thanks for the info.

What do you mean by code?

And IHKA3 module... sorry this means nothing to me?! Is this the model of panel I need?

Coding is tweaking the parameters of the software in your car - in this case it would be to make the climate control panel work. As for the IHKA3 module, I believe that was part of the date related comment.

If your car was manufactured after March 2014, you will have the IHKA3 module and will therefore be able to do what you want.

Did you need any special tools / trim removers? Is it just a T20 torx from what I've seen online? Any need to code anything afterwards?

I think I'll get on to ordering the part!
