Only had my M2C a couple of weeks and happy with the power, no comparison to my stage 1 RS3 in a straight line but it's a different drive so not exactly a fair comparison.

Hadn't considered touching the software in the slightest until I had a guy cleaning our carpets today, yes you read that right, and he was telling me he's running GTS software on his M3 and that it transformed the car. Gearbox and traction and he's also gone stage 2.

Any thoughts or opinions on this? I see Thor and MHD seem to be popular options to flash at yourself.

Cheers

Just get BM3 mate, it's hoofin. My M2Comp is currently running Stage2 @552 bhp 740nm and is a riot. She's going in for hybrids next month too lol

+1 for BM3. My M2 Comp is only stage 1 so approx 500-520 but it is still flying and easily manageable on the twisty bits.
You also get the GTS And CS engine maps for free with the purchase of a BM3 licence, if you wish to use them.
Can also have CS / GTS transmission flash.

If you want GTS Steering, Diff and Traction settings i think you need to talk to someone like Defined Coding.

Thor does this MHD does not.

I have GTS steering on OG M2 it is very heavy but I like it.
Don't think Thor M Flash works yet on M2C's AFAIK

BM3 on OGM2 n55 works a treat, less so the DCT flash though - tried it and put it back to stock. Considering going with XHP Stg3 DCT flash now...

For M2C EPS, DSC + M Diff SW - can also recommend Zed Coding for CS/GTS or any combination...

FWIW I'm running CS DSC and GTS M Diff via Thor M Flash- works well with hopped up n55 c/o a few bolt-ons and BM3 Stg 2

Thanks for the replies, the more I've researched the more I'm thinking about leaving it, the crank hub is putting the fear in me. Had no concerns with my RS3 as they're relatively bullet proof.

I hear you reference the Crankhub mate as mine spun last summer and it was running stock map the months leading up to it but BMW rejected warranty as they pinged DME manipulation etc lol
That said for a few ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ you can get it upgraded and a capture plate on as well to double tap it and with the stage1 or stage2 it is a completely different animal and will absolutely muller a lot of cars comfortably including a tuned RS3, and I'm talking from experience as I had a FL RS3 Stage1

I read lots about BM3 being able to relock the DME and it being untraceable etc? Not something I buy into as they'll always find a way to detect it.

I've also read that there's no proof the capture plates actually work, I suppose there's always for and against with this stuff.

I'll be doing an exhaust first and foremost so there's the red flag that it's been tampered with and I'm sure they'll try and reject a claim based on that alone if something goes wrong!

My RS3 was stage 1 too, ran a 0-60 at 3.08 seconds can't see the M2 getting to that level. Rolling I appreciate it's a different beast but then I'd say feel like the M2 might have the upper hand for only half of the year at best! Rs3 will put it down no matter the weather.

BM3 is no longer "untraceable" due to BMW getting extra savvy with the latest software they rolled out last year. Even **** box 320ds with tuning boxes are getting dicked.

Capture plate on its own is a small preventative measure with no sure fire guarantee, upgraded Crankhub and capture plate is the way forward as I like others have done.
If your talking about 0-60 times then your definitely in the wrong car :lol2:
M cars are rolling power houses, and epic on track and twisties unlike the RS3 :| sounds like you need to get yaself back into an Audi mate :lol2:

If you are worried about warranty don't fettle the car - TBH M2C (even OGM2) with stock tune humbles lots of more exotic m/c on road and moreso on TD's.

Coming from RS3, no wonder you're focussing on M2C exhaust. Anything to make S55 sound better is a good plan - with hardwire pnp OPF deletes now available and stealth work done on midpipes (gutting LHS OPF chamber and then straight pipe RHS OPF chamber) should create a DIY/ghetto equal length midpipe* to even out the s55 pulses.

* - see YT clip below of a US M2CS (2nd cats in midpipe as opposed to OPF's c/w hi flow DP's) tken from the thread in the link at the bottom....

Yeah exhaust is a must, but I knew that buying the M2, the sound would be no comparison.

I'm probably going to go down the equal length route and keep the opfs in place. The millek by far and away seems to be the best sounding one to my ears but hard to tell from videos. I'm going to pop to a couple of places local that do custom systems and see what's possible.

Again I knew going from the RS3 to the M2 it's not going to be as usable all year round… but I no longer need my car to be. RS3 was great just felt numb.
