My GTI footwell lights used to come on with the ambient lighting and had adjustable brightness from 0% - 100% independently using the infotainment, I used to run them at 20% brightness.

Oh that's interesting - I had a Golf R before my F20 1 series and I don't remember the footwells lighting while driving in that either, although there was other ambient lighting.

Now that you say that it makes me think I may have coded it in, 🤪🤔&#x1f937-2642;

 

The footwell lights stayed on in my Audi, but were part of a £600 lighting pack that the previous owner had specced...I'd rather have had the folding wing mirrors that he hadn't...much more useful and standard on the 1.

 

No the footwell lights do not stay on while moving in the F40 BMW. Can't be coded either unfortunately

No you are right enough it came as standard on the performance Golf and you could set it from 10 -100%
I had put blue LED's in my R and had it on at 100% but it was always just the slightest glow.
I certainly wasn't a distraction.

 

Do you know if it is possible to keep the footwells light on while driving by means of coding? 🤔
I can't find a way to code it with bimmercode

 

I need to check mine but I'm sure they stay on. Or maybe its just my imagination. They would be quite bright

In my case, they light up when you open the door, but they turn off when you start and while driving. If possible, check it and tell us.

Can I get a photo of someones driver footwell please. I picked up my M Sport recently and I mine seems to be more exposed than I think it should be. I can feel the steering wheel mechanism turn when my foot is on the footrest, and I turn the wheel
