Coded M135i to sound like a M4, M5 and a Rolls Royce!

My friend and I managed to code a few things yesterday. We put the volume up on the ASD to werte=05, then decided to try a few different engine sounds. There was quite a few in the list, but we tried a S63B44 (M5) which sounded a bit bassier and smoother, but the N73B66 in the Rolls was smooth as cream, but didn't suit the car. The N57D30 diesel wasn't to bad either (sounded nothing like a diesel), but the S55B30 of the new M3/M4 was the biggest disapointment, it sounded nothing special at all. We then put the car back to N55B30 and with the sound turned up to max it sounds the best of them all, it really screams now. When I'm bored of the sound though, its nice to know I can change it into a V12!

This is under 3000 ASD-configuration - Funktionen - Motor. Then choose from the list of engines. What I found odd was there was a N47 on the list, didn't know these had ASD

We also manged to code: Digital speedo in dash, Start-stop disable on startup, Heater direction on last setting when starting car (mine always reverted back to down and vent direction for some reason). We also coded the sport dials on the I drive but they didn't work, so we removed them again.

Not bad for first attempt!

What? why would you do this? :lol2:

You've got a 6 pot. Buy a good exhaust ;)
We were just wondering what they would each sound like out of curiosity. Its 100% reversible and 100% free, so why not try it out. Exhausts however, cost a lot of money and the standard one sounds good to my ears outside the car. :)

Did you guys try adding the ASD menu in iDrive?

HU_NBT
3000 HMI > Funktionen > ASD_SOUND_OFF
or
3000 HMI > Funktionen > ASD_CONFIGURATION
I don't think I can do this on mine as I don't have sat nav. Have you done it? Does it work?

Very interested in playing with the symposer noise (and maybe being able to turn it off completely it the MP exhaust ever turns up!)
Do you have any details of the hardware and software required to re-program a 2014 M135i?

Also, do you think you could post a pic of "digital speedo in dash"?
Any options to re-task the EfficientDynamics meter at all?

Thanks! :cool2:

I tried ASD_CONFIGURATION just now and it does make menu options appear in iDrive, however, they are for MINI :lol2: so going to turn it back off :)

Don't get too excited about the digital speedo - it's just the current mph on an extra page added to the functions you cycle through inbetween the speedo/Rev counter, such as current mpg, outside temp, range to refuel etc.

Do the sports dials only work with Pro Nav?

The sports dials change the colour of the bhp and torque dials on the NBT display, they do not change the dash display to show a different colour rev range or anything.

I saw a video of what sports dials look like and I can't say I ever look at the dials, so not one for me.

I thought this was a 'how to code sound symposer'

Been searching this but cant find if anyone has done how to code/play with sound symposer of m135i, what cable and software it require and source to get these.

its not an exact m4 sound as its not an M4 but it does give a more of a grunt inside especially when the windows are up
