It asks you to back up prior to any coding and if you've coded the same module more than once and backed up each time it gives you the choice of which back up to apply.
I had my OEM tow bar electrics coded to the car by Johag as Carly doesn't give this option. It would be interesting to see if this coding has been saved in a back up.

can you tell me why?
Hi, if you go into expert mode is the option there?
Code:
Front Electronic Module (Expert Mode)
3023 TcMaster2
TCM_MSA_DEFAULT_OFF
If so, click on "TCM_MSA_DEFAULT_OFF" and set to "aktiv"
even in Expert mode the code 3023 doesn't appear to me .. being a series 1 of 2008 it should appear don't you think?

You don't have the battery option or stop start option?

Have you updated the app recently? There has been a couple of updates in the last month.

A-ha, my apologies, I assumed that you had an F##-generation Series 1... on the E81/E82/E87/E88 Series 1 (from 2008-2013) you only have the option to "memorise the last start/stop function" (not disable it) and, rather confusingly, the setting is in the "Air Conditioning" IHXXPL2 or "Air Conditioning" IHKX_E89 Modules.
Note: if the car was manufactured before 2008 it is not supported by Bimmercode.

Yes indeed they do.

Just to add, Bimmercode should work on any car built after the 2007 facelift. They confirmed this via email and I can confirm it (and Bimmerlink) works fine on an LCI (Aug 2007 build) car. They've also answered a few questions I've had too, so even though it's pre-2008 they're happy to support me. I assume it's easier for them to just say "2008 onwards" to be absolutely certain rather than risk bad reviews/complaints/chargebacks from your average app store user which is fair enough.

I probably wouldn't risk it if the car was a March/April/May 2007 build but if it was any later than that it's worth a punt simply because both Bimmercode, Bimmerlink and one of the many supported adapters combined is cheaper than Carly and their proprietary rebranded adapter - especially if you keep the car more than a year now that Carly is an annual subscription.

It varies between series of cars but it also varies between individual cars,so not all F21 will be the same,it depends on the individual spec of your car and what modules you had fitted from the factory.
When you plug in your reader and start the app it will read all your modules and then let you see what you can do.

Is it possible to recode Carplay to a car that has had it wiped by a service software update using these tools?

If you're in thinking of buying/ subscribing to Carly they are currently offering a 20% discount coupon for father's day.

...for what its worth, because they've also increased their subscription prices! - and now display a weekly subscription rate on their website in a vain attempt to hide their price increase. Not impressed Carly!

Hi I’m about to buy BimmerCode to register a new battery to my mini clubman, do I also need to buy bimmerlink?
Bimmercode doesn't have the ability to register a battery. You only need Bimmerlink if you're not intending on doing any coding.

Do keep in mind that these app are nothing more than NSC Expert/ISTA+C in a fancy app. And the original software is not limited to certain subscription models.

All you need is a good cable and some googling, although most cable suppliers also includethe software.

The app is more easy for the less technical, but in the end, using the BMW software is quickly learned.
