BMW 116D Side Light fault but they're OK

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my BMW 116d F20 sport. I keep getting a re-occurring side light problem. The car 'pings' with an error code saying there is a fault with the side lights, however, both of the side lights are working okay. The fault normally clears itself but sometimes, usually when first starting up the car, the fault pops up and clears multiple times and is quite annoying. It seems to stop after a while of driving but it stays in a state saying there is a fault but there isn't.
Any advice would be appreciated to be able to stop this from happening, thank you in advance :D

Has it got LED bulbs fitted? If so they need to be 'coded' so the Front Electronic Module doesn't monitor the bulb. Known as canbus errors

Also check your Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) because they throw up the same error often. Even if they've had LEDs fitted too.

The side light bulb and DRL bulb are different bulbs. When you get the error are you turning on the sidelight/parking lights and going to see if the bulbs are working?

Hi, yeah I do have LED side lights in, I've just realised this could be the problem! Is there a way I could do anything to fix this issue or do I just need to change the bulbs?
I've checked DRL's and they're fine!
Thanks

That's the problem then, the LED bulbs should have been coded when fitted.
Where abouts are you located? A lot of members on here do their own coding (me too) maybe one of us will do it for you, it only takes a couple of minutes.
See the for more info, there is a map of users willing to do coding but it's not updated. FYA I cover the E.Yorkshire area.
Or if it's something that you're interested in learning yourself you can get a lot of useful tips there too.
