Hey guys, I'm wondering if some saviour can help me as I'm about at my wits end.
I have an e87 1series 2006, it's done an amazing 209K miles.
As above, I have the following warning on my dash. (Check battery terminals) All the terminals connected and around the battery have been cleaned, including the ones under the battery tray, copper greased and cleaned with electrical terminal cleaner. And yet I'm still getting this message. It's been on Carly to be read and have a new battery coded, battery read healthy and the alternator was showing pretty good too. Now here comes the really confusing bit, it flagged up an IBS code, and I don't have one, checked OEM sites and wasn't meant to come out with one either. I've also changed the red distribution box and no luck. It's probably a massive long shot but I may aswell put it out there. My 3 musketeer lights are on (abs, traction control, tyre pressure) which I know is my drivers rear abs sensor. This is going to sound really silly, but I know BMW's a finnicky about electrics, could this be influencing the battery light to come on? As they usually appear around the same time.
Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated, I'm sorry if I've posted this wrong but I'm new here and I'm desperate. I really want this car to see another 209k as it's been loyal most it's life with me!
