Litchfield Imports F2x

Post by Blind Pugh » Wed Aug 27, 2014 1:28 pm

Looks like Iain Litchfield is making progress on fettling his M235i.....

http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/BMW/M235i" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also gets a mention in Sept issue of Performance BMW magazine under "our Cars" section, perhaps implying same M235i is part of PBMW fleet......Reading article hints at engine mapping amongst the many mods being assessed.

Interesting that they have jumped onto the BMW band wagon... They seem to be a well respected Japanese Car importer and have a reputation for modified machines.

I thought Birds had exclusive Quaife dealings for BMW in UK so wonder if their diff install works out cheaper?

Good to see another specialist on board who may be able to offer alternative performance products :)

Sent an inquisitive email to L'field sales for more info. Once they come back, I will update.

Interesting that L'field have opted for B16 RC over KW Vx / DDC

Import market is drying up - between the poor Yen rate and increasingly slim pickings in terms of new models to bring in, there's not enough to sustain the business any more. Civic FD2s were among the last things Iain brought over in any volume, I had one of the first batch.

He's a shrewd businessman (if a little disorganised at times!), and the GTRs have allowed him to develop his own tuning house rather than working with Powerstation. M cars and M-lites would appear to be the next avenue open to prime upgrades.

On the website, both KW and Bilstein are on offer. Thank christ he's stopped using ASTs though.

Sounds like given time, M'hurst will bring some interesting kit to the market. Should be good news for us, provided it's priced right and reliable.....time will tell.

I wonder if the power increase will be greater than the kit by AC Schnitzer?

Acs are claiming 380ps for f22 tuning box, up 20ps on m135i equivalent.

This could be very interesting looking forward to seeing what this company can do with Bmw's.

RideControl sounds interesting. The adaptive is good and he car handles very well on smoother roads but it definitely starts to suffer on B roads.

Having started shopping around for mods, some of the M-Performance pricing starts to make sense. I have ended up looking at non-BMW stuff like Prodrive wheels and then realising I'm back at the M-Performance price point. It's only really over a whole stack of parts the non-BMW savings start to add up.
