As a few of you know I run a used car sales dealership, therefore everything I drive is up for sale! This week I've sold my rather well spec'd 118i SE after almost a year of use. You can imagine my excitement when a fully loaded (pro nav, sunroof, comfort access etc) M135i popped up in the auction system on a 62 booking at only £15k! Unfortunately it went for a little (and by a little I mean a lot) over book so ended up being a no go. However, there is an F21 125d up tomorrow with decent miles, not daft in the book and with a reasonable spec (business nav, heated leather, cruise) not quite as much as my old car but enough to sacrifice.

Anyway, my big question is to those of you running or having ran the 125d, would you have another and should I consider it? I'm little torn because I've spent the past week looking at everything M135i related in readiness of buying one, so now only 220hp and a noisy diesel seem like such a let down!

I bought one last June after selling my Z4 coupe. I think it has every option bar electric seats/mirrors I think, It is a lovely car to drive even better when I took off the runflats. In sport mode it is quite eager and handles quite well 42 mpg according to the lieometer around town much better on a run, once it is moving the engine is quiet, on an open road you cant hear it at all. If you don't mind the diesel narrow power delivery I think you will like it my girlfriend has a 65 plate Audi TT tdi and prefers to drive the 125d.
I only wish I still had electric seats but I found them quite difficult to find in a 125d spec mind you I found the same when I was looking for a 135 before I bought my Z4 in fact a lot of the earlier 135s I saw didn't have very high specs at all.

I've had mine for a while now and I think it's a great car, it has a decent spec as well. I recently had a blast on some good roads in the Brecon Beacons and driving in sport mode using the paddles it certainly gets a shift on and handles pretty well too. It has the best of both worlds in my opinion.

If you are trade, surely hanging about here will see a member needing to offload a M135i quickly?

That said - my friend is well made up with his 125d.

BMW didn't get to the bottom of the N47 chain issues until 2014, and they've now washed their hands of the issue!

I would (I did) spend my hard earned beer chits on an M-Lite.

I ended up missing the 125d online which was probably a good thing... helped me decide I want an M135i and unless something equally as awesome pops up in the mean time I'm going to sit and wait to buy one. Theres a big BMW sale coming up a week today with over 1000 BMW's and about 10 M135I's amongst it so fingers crossed by this time next week I'ma bout to become part of the M-lite club! I think stumbling on across a youtube video by a guy called Matt Shelley doing a European road trip (something I've wanted to do for years) in an M135i helped persuade me that that is the kind of life I want to live!
