Hi Blacky,

I had my front windows done to match the darkened rear glass I had as an option from the factory. Its a good match and is pretty much the darkest you can go for while remaining legal (over here anyway) and before the police start paying you any unwanted attention!
I really liked this mod, goes well with the high gloss bits on the M Sport, see link below for pics

PS. little pic to the right was from before I got it done

Thanks for your comments to date, but I was really interested if there were any technical issues.
I remember seeing something about the windows seals being tight and therefore scratching the tint film??

I've had them 8 months now and no problems. If something was to get lodged into the seal on the inside that could scratch the film, I'd imagine it would be relatively big and you'd pick up on it fairly easily. Remember, the film can only be scratched by stuff on the inside seal of the door window, and this part is easy to keep an eye on.
As long as you go somewhere reputable and established with a good track record you won't have any problems.
Once the film was applied the guys told me not to use the windows for at least 3 days to let them dry and set thoroughly, during this time there appeared to be a few marks and bubbles which I got a bit worried about, so I phoned them....they said to be patient, and wait...and sure enough, after the 3 days all the marks were gone.
Like I said, you pay for what you get, get it done on the cheap and you may regret it, I've had absolutely no probs!

Mine are fine - go for a good quality 3M or similar film...
Got my back 3 done for £150 in a similar to factory extra tint, so its not too pimped but sones the job nicely.

I just got the three rear windows done in our 1 for £160.00, the guy made a really good job of it and I got him to do my Accord estate as well.

I got pulled in my TVR for speeding and the Policeman let me off but insisted I took the door window tints off as they were only letting in 23% light :eek2:

The police are getting a bit tougher on front window tinting it seems but I'm sure it varies from area to area. Notts is getting very tough on people enjoying cars and has recently introduced a policy that more than 5 cars following one another is a cruise and you'll all get a fine. I wonder when the first funeral or wedding procession will get done as they *technically* fall into the policy.

We've had a few in which have been done aftermarket, with complaints of squeaking, because the film just adds a little bit of thickness to the glass, which then rubs against the seals. Apparently the factory tint is 'in' the glass, so no extra thickness.
I don't know if diffrent tinting companies use differnt thicknesses, or whether the level of darkness alters the depth of the film, as many people seem to have had this done with no problems at all.
Does look great though, so maybe it's worth the risk?

I've had mine done 80% on the back and 45% on the front but unfortunately something got on the inner seal and it has put a few scratches on the film but they have said they will replace for free when I want.

I'll get it change in the Spring. Other than it the car looks ace I think all windows cost me £220 all in worth doing.
