Finally got our car and as expected had some deletions.
No HUD,
No strip of Ambient lighting on the back doors although it does have a few leds in the back doors that change colour.
I specified the performance tyres expecting PS4s but ours annoyingly has crappy P Zeros. Dealer explanation was that BMW must have run out. 😡
Unexpectedly to me the outside of the car lights up like a Christmas tree, with puddle lights and lights on all the door handles, so that’s a bonus.
overall though, love the car. 👍

Any pictures of the rear door interior lights?

We also ordered the enhancement package with our car, which should include stop/go and adaptive cruise control. We have stop/go but not the buttons I’m expecting for the adaptive cruise. Can anyone confirm if we’ve lost this as well?

Do they change colour?

I guess then, this is how they continue to advertise the rear ambient lighting. It's there.....it's just a cheaper version of what it was!!

2022 128Ti vs 2021 118i M sport.

Collected my new 128Ti at the end of December (Love the car). The differences that I have noticed so far. cubby hole draw on drivers side missing, light bar in rear doors replaced by a small light in the door handle. Puddle lights under seats for rear passengers and metal protector on boot lip missing.

Much the same as mine, though I wasn't aware that there were puddle lights under the seats for rear passengers were fitted.

Was not aware there was puddle lights under passenger seat either, so not miss what not know suppose

  1. Have learned that the front interior puddle lights only come on when door is opened (On my GTI they were on all time and were dimmable, so did initially think this was a delete)
  2. That the reversing tilting mirror (which thought was maybe a delete) has to have the switch in the driver's side position to work! (On my GTI, the switch position was placed to passenger mirror side)
  3. Given all the red accents and stitching, an oversight that red is not an ambient lighting choice?
  4. You have to have the auto hold activated for parking assist to begin, as if press the button and just have brake on parking assist does not activate. Have used once successfully, but bailed on two other occasions as road too busy and easier for me to do
  5. Creation of shortcuts from menu to the 1-8 buttons is excellent addition. The whole media system is superb, intuitive with excellent interaction with the wheel and buttons, love having wireless Car Play.
  6. Do not like the way the driver display auto dims, even on max brightness there are certain conditions it's not bright enough.
  7. The app does gallons to 100 miles, why? you then have to work out the MPG. The car does the average MPG so why not the app
  8. Oil temp has to become a 1-8 shortcut, not available on driver display, which do like to check before option Sport and maybe stretch cars legs on an appropriate road.
  9. When placed car in P 'Park' you have to have foot on brake before turn off car with button to activate the main brake (red light) as if turn of the car without foot on brake the main brake is not activated. (in the GTI this whole action was automatic on shutting down car via the button, main brake immediately applied)
  10. The heated steering wheel always seemed to be unnecessary, but now have it, have obviously found a new appreciation!)
  11. Rear ambient lighting as we know is not strips but in handle lighting, and suppose cannot miss what not had, as the lighting looks fine in back,
  12. really like the USB C charging points in the rear and the arm rest, kept two passengers known for poor battery phone maintenance very happy on family run around over Christmas.
  13. Just to keep in one place, confirmation that the rear daytime running (DRL) are in place and selectable in the O/S (this is one delete would have been very unhappy about, as its highly functional, effective, and looks good and is signature also)
  14. As another add, pretty impressive 312 miles from last £70 tank of Tesco Momentum, on medium and town driving, about 40 miles more than TCR was giving me for same fill up, it stated 30.8 MPG on driver display since last refuel, to when filled up again. Every other new car owned; the MPG improved so promising start on the economy front for times when you drive around in traffic like everyone else.
  15. EDIT: Another unknown addition, in the collision detection was super quick in picking up a person diving out between cars, to which had clocked him, but got a red person warning on the driver display, so unlike the VW, this must be camera led and not radar, to distinguish a moving object is a person, coming from wide right and into center, now do wonder if it would put up a cycle symbol if it was a bike? but quite impressive, it did not grab brakes as was already on it, but good to see none the less.
Very different car to drive than the VW GTI, but already proving to be well built, with good interior luster, and starting to become one with the car while driving now and starting to feel its capabilities, and feel quite hopeful that once done the 1000 miles will see a decent performance car as a compliment to the pleasant drive getting now in comfort

Only realised this was a delete as just followed a 118D 22 plate and the rear indicators are full length, across the boot, whereas mine are just the rear quarter, which is obviously something cannot see, but is pants its been removed.

Strange that the rear DRL are working correctly, which would imagine is the same boot cluster as the indicators, so is there chance the boot indicator was not coded? and can just be switched on?

Mine is the same, I was wondering if they could be activated or whatever?

Managed to have a quick look at it this morning and from just a visual inspection it looks like the boot cluster does not have the indicator element and is just glass IE: they ran out of parts and we got lesser version option,

But that's just a visual inspection where the strip on the boot looks different to strip on the quarter cluster, but cannot say with certainty of course as its maybe just the design, but gut says its a delete.

Anybody else checked their rear indicators for a delete? So only the quarter signals and not the full length?

If the wiring was there would it be worth a look to see if any new models are being broken?

Same here, indicators are only on the outside of the cluster and not on the boot portion. Funnily enough I followed a 71-plate car yesterday which had the full length strip and it does look a lot better. Slight irritation, but you never see it from inside the car and it's only when signalling so just one of those things I guess.

Glad they didn't mess with the front eyebrow indicators as that would have been a bigger deal!

From what can see, the boot cluster does not have LED in the strip, and if you pull of the connecter cover (easily comes off) there is just a single connector option, which is connected, so it seems its just a level down component due to shortage and to get the car built on time, but not going to worry about it, had the sweeping indicators on my GTI TCR but only ever remember seeing them once, so its not detrimental to the experience really, not enough to fuss about anyway,
