Curious, both the TS and LCA to subframe bolts are M12 grade 10.9 bolts torqued to 74lbft +90 degrees doesn't exactly sound to me sufficiently close to stretching a bolt to the point of no return....

Interesting, so maybe not such a bad thing if they are reused, I guess still better to replace them given the low cost.

Well I've now disappeared down a rabbit hole of hard sums, proof loads, yield strength, coefficients of friction for dry and lubed threads, published papers on torque-angle tightening etc etc :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Suffice to say if you were to tighten a grade 10.9 zinc plated M12 x 1.5 bolt, dry, to 157Nm you would be at 100% proof load. Without using force gauge on the bolt proof load is assumed to be between 85 and 95% of the yield strength of that bolt. I am now trying to work out what a 90° angle adds in force to the bolt above the 'Snug Torque' of 100Nm (74lbft) to see if it goes above 90% proof which is considered the 'safe' margin in a stretch type application

Yep it sure did, haven't looked back since. Very worthwhile upgrade imo :)

I spoke to Ash (Regal) at the time of getting mine done and he said they would willing to do further group buys providing there is enough interest.

Might be worth seeing how much people are interested and then put that proposal to Ash. With things in general looking a little more positive now and light at the end of the tunnel (hopefully) with regards to the pandemic, could be a good time to start a new group buy.
