My windscreen washer pump starting dribbling instead of spraying the windscreen recently. It did this when I first got the car and found out it was the filter covered in slime. Well, as I took the pump out the filter dropped inside the tank and I couldn't retrieve it. So now I'm expecting the pump to get bunged up at some point. Do new pumps come with the filter?

Don't know, I think you're the first to lose the strainer.

Definitely not a clogged non-return valve?

Blowing a can of compressed air down the pipe fixed dribbling washers for me. Did it a few months ago and they haven't blocked again yet. Not sure if it will help if your filter is missing and the gunk has got inside the pump though.
