Hi all I've been looking at takin a warranty out on my 135i n54 . How much has anybody paid for the bmw one just had a quote for nearl £900. Another was warranty wise at £450 and warranties direct £500. Does anybody no any other company's that are any good or give any feedback on the ones I have mentioned. Think the bmw one sounds rediculass. Cheers all

I pay £31 per month with bmw for my 135i. I think it all depends on mileage, i took mine out when i bought it from birds at 37,000 miles 3 years ago

It's an insurance contract based on risk and claim experience. The price also depends on the level of cover / excess / breakdown cover that you specify, you can customise the price online and choose the one that might be within your budget.

I wouldn't bother with non-BMW approved policies.

I would stay with a BMW Mondial product, medium level of cover with a medium excess.

Tempted to go with BMws "Driveline" option. That appears to cover everything I'm concerned with - Engine, Gearbox, Turbo, Driveshafts..

Cheers guys I've clicked to proceed then it says about vehicle mods In any way. I've got decats to on which the cover doesn't cover anyway so if it doesn't cover the mods I've got on or goin on would that void the warranty etc.

A decat nukes the warranty on most of the expensive bits in reality.

Dead turbo? Down to your decat Sir. Gearbox trouble? It's getting too much power due to your modifications Sir.... :(

Shouldn't effect any claims on suspension, electrics, etc, though.

Sorry you've missed the 60k cut off. Would have cost you about 45 a month before that.

Unless of course you drive the 11k in the 30 days the policy takes to be effective and there have not been any mileage checks since the point you've gone over the 60k mark.

Well I'm not sure on what to do now. As if I had turbo trouble would mean replacing standard downpipes which would be a pita. Or just forget warranty and keep my fingers crossed lol. Saying that since I've owned the car nearly 1 1/2. I've only done 6000 miles. I may ring bmw to see what has been done ie hpfp or turbos. Replaced. At least that would may be give me peace of mind if they have been changed.

IMO you've got 2 options. Either mod the car and accept that you're going to have to pay if stuff breaks or don't mod it and take out a warranty.

You can't really do both, with modding comes the risk of stuff breaking. If you don't want the risk, don't mod.
