Hi All,

Easy question for those that put their music on a USB Flash drive.

Results with my F22 (where E drive is the USB flash drive):

- E drive/Album Folder/Individual tracks - the car (F22) cannot read the music contained within the folder

- E drive/Individual tracks - the car (F22) plays each track in file name order, not in album order (a bit annoying when you want to play an entire album)

Anybody found an easier solution?

Mine works fine as e:/album name/tracks in my F22.
Is the USB stick formatted as Fat32?

Also it took about 3 mins to load up the USB stick the first time I inserted it.

Mine seems to work differently, basically all my tracks are created via iTunes and it uses the tags to determine album, artist etc.

It does struggle to read Apple loss less though and there is a limit to the size of stick you can use.

I also use iTunes to manage the music so it takes care of the tags. I then use a program called iTunesFusion which takes the iTunes database and the music files and writes it to USB, manages changes to what's already on the USB, creates specific playlists if you need them etc..

So after a bit more experimentation I agree with philm - the car struggles with Apple's lossless format MPEG-4. Most do NOT play. I have hundreds of CDs loaded to my home PC in this format so that is a disappointment!

MPEG-3, the typical file type that music download sites like Amazon and 7digital use, is readily read and played by the car

I use an app for my mac called playlist export. It puts all the songs in album/artist folder structure, then you just export your iTunes playlist and place it on the drive. Then your car reads the playlist and the playlist acts as a link to each song file.

Works perfectly.
