Hi,

I have a BMW 1 Series 116i E87 2004 and I am looking at upgrading the headlights to brighter ones as the current bulbs aren't great. What headlight bulbs do you recommended? (I want them to be road legal)

Also, what indicator bulbs and sidelight bulbs do you recommend?

Thank you,

Jake

For the headlights I recommend OSRAM Nightbreakers.

I'm yet to do my indicator or sides

Thank you, sorry, I am new to the car scene so a complete novice to all of this. Will these fit my car?

Should do - I would recommend them too - H7 fitting.

If you have not changed headlight bulbs before, important tip - don't touch the glass. They get very hot and oils and dirt from your fingers can cause them to blow.

Halfords stock them and will fit them for a fee.

Thank you for the advice, it's much appreciated. I have just had a look on Halfords website and cannot find Osram bulbs on there:(

Oops - sorry. The last time I was brousing with a Christmas voucher they had them...but that was last January I think.

Halfords are very expensive for bulbs. They are much cheaper to buy them on-line...it's just that they have a fitting service.

ok, not to worry. Thank you. So, would these 2 items be all I need?

Look at this on eBay:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2 x OSRAM W5W, 501, T10 COOL BLUE INTENSE SIDELIGHT PARKING LIGHT BULBS UPGRADE

And

Look at this on eBay:

I think that your car uses H7 bulbs for dip and main beam - if so you'll need 4 of them.

I put night breakers in our Subaru Outback and they are MUCH brighter than standard headlight bulbs.

I think that there must be a mistake in that sidelight advert - your sidelight bulbs are NOT 55w! They should be about 5w.

Hey Jake have a read here first with some helpful links and advice - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have these and they are on eBay - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; perfectly acceptable for £13 instead of £25-30

And there's also a handy how to section in this forum to help you easily change them over - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
