Morning folks. Don't post much but been on here for a while. My pre LCI car turns 3 in March and I'm currently working out what to replace it with. Went for manual first time round and if I'm being honest, I've not found it the best, it's a bit notchy from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th and the clutch is quite heavy when stuck in traffic (which is the norm when trying to get out of Manchester!!).

I'm torn between an Audi RS3 in basic spec (was in Audi before the BM and BM before the Audi) or an optioned up LCI 135 with sports auto. If I go for the 135 I want to sort out what I didn't like about my current one, namely the wheels and ride height (the leather is a bit naff but I can't do much about that, contrast stitching would have been nice!).

I'm looking at putting either Style 361 or 405 wheels on with 19" PSS tires. I see the LCI comes with the pressure monitoring system as standard. How have all you folks that have gone for different wheels accommodated this? Did you take the sensors out of the original wheels and put them into the new ones, get e new set of sensors or run the new wheels without? I was thinking of keeping the original wheels and putting winters on them and would have liked to have the new wheels on from delivery.

All advice welcome even on the RS3. Heart wants the RS I think but Audi are not going to get anywhere near the deals being done by BM at the moment.

If you're keeping the originals for winters, get yourself a second set of sensors. Around £100 from eBay.de

Anything specific I should look for with regards to the sensors? A quick google was sugesting more like £100 per corner!!!

I've also seen the 361's & 405's on eBay.de for a very good price but a bit sceptical they will be cheap copies even though they have the BMW codes and markings in the pictures.

I've recently bought a set of these for my winter set and, after a bit of a panic because the fitter thought BMW did away with these sensors a couple of years ago due to ongoing problems in lieu of the ABS sensor type, they were fitted and are now working fine. They also turned up very quickly after purchase despite the quoted long delivery period.

I assume BMW reverted back to this system owing to a legal responsibility for all new cars to come with a TPMS rather than a deflation warning.

Removing 2VB from the FA and VO coding the NBT, KOMBI, ICM & DSC should revert the car back the RPA tyre warning system that uses the ABS rings instead of the TPMS sensors.

Don't think anyone on here other than you will understand that. Do you have a simple version?
