This would be interesting to know, I have the same engine and I feel like my engine runs very loudly (maybe the chain).

Thanks for the replies, looks like a Job for a mechanic? How long do you reckon that would take? Seen a video on YT being done on a MINI N14 engine and looked like it wasn't too complex.
Also how can I be sure that my chain is actually on the way out? thank you
