Boost, Oil temp and many other parameters can be monitored along with engine tuning and data logging all wirelessly by Bluetooth from my car to my iPhone.
Tell me more! Where you get this from?
All I'm bothered about really is knowing the oil temps so I know when my car is warm,
Hi Liam,

It's this app for iPhone:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You need to have JB4 and you also need to purchase the Bluetooth adapter from USA. Mine has been shipped and it should turn up at the end of next week. :)

I got this one in my 130i, it's very discreet and the vent is still functional. It also shows BMW's fault codes at startup and you can reset them:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Theyre a nice little item, been pleased with mine, I couldn't be arsed faffing with apps and a phone lol, its a fit and forget.

I nearly went for the performance wheel but over a grand for some flashing lights, BMW are having a :lol2:

I'm pleased with mine too, it's not cheap but it looks nice integrated and it works perfect, it's easy fitting and plug & play

I'm not a big fan neither of the performance wheel with gauges or a phone with apps

Liam,

I have the JB4 connect kit that Watts is referring to and it's a great gadget.

Another advantage of JB4 is its inherent safety cold start feature. JB4 doesn't start adding boost until oil temp gets to 70degC. Takes abt 10 mins and you can easily tell JB4 starts adding boost !!!

BP Liam is local to me and we should be meeting up at some point as I'm trying to get a few lads from Lancashire together for a bit of a meet up.

I can show Liam JB4 and I think once you have had a taste for JB4 it simply makes sense that your car should be running it.

Liam is currently organising M Perfomance kit I think but for me it was a little easier as I had pretty much done all I wanted cosmetically to the car, I just needed to give the car some grunt to compliment it's looks.

Liam just make sure you have JB4 on your Santa's wish list for Christmas. :)

For all JB4 OBDll and jb4 connect users - oil temp is finally here.

Load up latest FW OBDII_EWG_6:

1) Added FSERIES To the name to avoid confusion among E series N55 owners.
2) Added automatic trans temp logging
3) Added output for oil temp for JB4 Mobile and updated JB4 interface
4) Added in timing on cyl 2-6 on a cycling scan of around 1hz. Will work on speeding up the timing data in future versions.

Looks like I will be relocating the canbus to behind the OBDll port finally to make the most of this latest JB4 FW update.....

Great news!! :)

BP I am on posi-tap any guide on how I can swop it over and update the JB4 firmware easily. I figured if I can install JB4 myself this shouldn't be too hard but I would like a solution that's easily removed without hassle if and when needed if possible?

No guide as such, you just unconnect your posi tap wires and feed the throught the bulkhead at the bonnet release cable. You'll need to remove the trim under the steering column and the trim surrounding the obdii port then posi tap on the back of the port. Update to latest obd fw and refit trim.

Works very well, too bad it's only Fahrenheit and not celcius.

I have the mobile app. How can I adjust this?
I can only change IAT to Celsius.
