Hi guys, just wondering because I'm looking to upgrade my speakers soon.

I've got a 2011 118D M Sport with a factory fitted PRO HU with Bluetooth and Aux.

Would I have 2 subs or 1? If I only have 1, will the wiring be/case be there to add a second?

I'm slightly confused because from what I've understood the PRO HU is a optional extra so surely it would come with two subs... Right?

Some have one, others two.

Pop a bassy track on, wind it up, and feel for the vibrations on the floor (under each front seat).

A 2011 car will only have one sub under the passenger seat unless you have a top spec system

You will need a sub,sub enclosure and the connecting harness.
So when you say the connecting harness is this the clip on to the sub? Do I still need to get the additional wiring to connect to the harness?

This forum is great!

Haha I'm not lacking any bassy tracks with Apple Music! Will give this a whirl tomorrow also!

Also, this is a question to everyone really! If I do go ahead and decide to get a amp and some new mid range/ tweeters is anyone on here able to fit at a reasonable price compared to a specialist/dealer?

I can travel most weekends

The new sub harness connects into a terminal block by the FRM module. I will try any find the part number and instructions for you.

I've actually got a couple of subs here. Let me check the part numbers on them and see if they are any good to you.

The mids and tweeters are pretty easy to fit.. You should save the pennies and do it yourself...

The sub however I have no idea..
Yeah I am looking to do this myself, wanted to replace the rears with some cheap/standard coaxials.

It's the subs and amp that I need help with!

I've seen this, tbh I can do the wiring, it's the hiding and dismantling of the car I'm not so confident with and I'd rather have someone who's knows what they're doing with the amp and subs doing it for me properly for a fee :/

Hey man, thanks! But I don't want you to waste your time if they're standard subs - I'm after L7 or aftermarket ones! If I'm going to do an upgrade I want to do it properly!

The standard subs are actually pretty good if you give them a little power. That's all the BMW Alpine upgrade does, sounds good.

They probably are but I'd rather just replace them for piece of mind.

My Astra has stock everything and was I'd say twice the sound system these cars have as standard.

I recently drove a 125i 65 plate with Harmon kardon and I still didn't think it was massively great :/

I'm thinking focals up front,

Focal coaxials in the rear parcel shelf and a amp driving the subwoofers on the floor maybe some L7s.

But the link I've posted, it's for an e90 but what is it?!
