Just looking at the BMW website and noticed that the M235 is 0.1 seconds quicker to 60 than the M135. This is despite the M235 being heavier.

Any ideas why?

Because they want to sell you a more expensive car. Both are understated to not compete with other more expensive cars

Internal bickering now.

I chose the coupe as it looks better and it drives better too. I usually prefer a coupe over a hatch.

The M135i does offer better value though.

Well 0.1 sec is 0.1 sec. I suppose yours is automatic too...
