I have the 5 year service pack on my M135 and when I checked the level earlier, it said "OK" but it looked nearer the minimum mark than the maximum mark.
Is it right that oil top ups are included in the service pack?
If so, would they top it up only when the OBC says it needs it?
I would rather see the level nearer maximum to be honest.
What grade oil do I need if I decide to top it up myself?

Grateful for any help

Oil top ups are inclusive with service pack but dealers wont do it until the car screams for a drink.

Any fully synthetic oil conforming to BMW LLO04 specs will be OK.

Whilst on the topic of the car asking for oil, when it alerts you to needing a top up, look to the right of the steering column and there is a symbol printed on it (key symbol I think), touch the key fob against this and it apparently will store the notification on the key for the dealer to read.

I was given a 1ltr bottle when I picked up the car. It finally asked for a litre at almost 15000 miles.

I was probably a 45 - 60minute round trip to my nearest two dealers so if I had to go all the way there on a Saturday afternoon (when Service is closed) then come home and have to wait till Monday it's their engine they're ruining (it's a lease). Surely they would give you a litre bottle so you can actively protect their asset (and yours if private). Seems small minded if they hold to the 'come in when it's asking' line.

When my E82 needed an oil top up my dealer topped it up and said the other half liter is in the boot for next time.... in the bottle that is not poured into the boot.
