Has anyone else suffered this with their part "leather" seats?

Is it an easy fix? Any tips or recommendations to people who could fix it?

Yes, my 135i driver's seat split at 2 1/2 years old and under 24000 miles.

Did you do anything about it?
Split 'Sensatec' is disappointingly common.

I think that's going to need either a new seat cover or a leather piece stitched in by an upholsterer.

Wonderful.. :(

I'm a bit OCD about the car so I don't know if I can ignore it. I'll try and obtain some quotes I guess.

BMW were not interested. I bought another perfect seat...and then wrapped it up in the shed! I'll fit it sometime - probably just before I sell the car!
I have this exact same problem! Was wondering the same just hard to find a seat that is the same and also heated

I got a quote of £250 to stich in some new pieces of material, although mine is a lot worse then yours. I think generally speaking an upholsterer will charge around £70 per panel/piece.
Push the bolster towards the centre of the seat and look at where it meets the plastic base, chances are it's split there too. Mine had and the upholsterer I used said it's extremely common, they repair Sensatec spec 1ers for a local main dealer pretty much weekly.

I ended up going for a real leather repair of all 3 side panels, as if repaired like for like, it'll happen again. It's just a case of getting the best possible match of tone and grain.

I paid £160.
Chips Away offer a repair service that might be worthwhile:

Don't mean to hijack the OPs thread but out of interest what company did you use?

Cheers

It's a firm local to my work, AutoTrim:

@ OP can you let me know what quote you get and where from? My seat is starting to crack/split :(.

Thank you.
I swapped out my half (fake) leather interior for a leather one.
Full leather set on ebay:

Or another 1/2 plastic set:

~" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My e87 leather cost me my old (knackered) interior and £200.00 from someone on eBay
