Looking at purchasing this roof bag for my 2020 Gran Tourer M Sport.
It has a capacity of 580L and is around 110cm in length and 100cm in width (it will take up the entire roof!).

The weight shouldn't exceed 45kg.

Has anyone tried a bag like this with out rails/bars? Any concerns/issues?

We are planning to use bungee cords as an additional safety net.

Still, i wouldn't be comfortable having the weight directly on the roof, if it were on a roof-rack then it'd be ideal. I'm curious, would you be planning to tie it round by the door jambs or through the windows as i can't see how you'd secure it, the GT only having flush roof-rails not those old school/SUV high ones like in the promo photo?

I would be concerned about the security of the contents.
Quick stop at the services and some opportunist has put a stanley knife along it. 🤨
Wow, an i thought i was paranoid!
Usually an opportunist only goes for it if he [more than likely a he] sees something of value, in which case a bag, rag-drop-top, window, car locks are all fair games - why waste a chance to get nabbed for slashing a roof-top bag that's more an likely only got cheap camping gear in? Be more concerned by the rozzers pulling you over for a potential unsecured load! 🚔
