Hi. The reason for this post is to collect information from those who did it successfully or not. We all know what the coding is and stuff, but there are still some of us for whom the hardware just does not seem to fit and work. So below is a list of things that if you guys, who attempted this successfully or not, feel generous to fill in and post as a answers

1. Your original car: series, lci?,engine, year/month of fabrication, head unit type, ID version

2.Donor screen: serial number, date of manufacture.
From what I know these two screens should work for the 1 series, RHD, lci 1:
65509385203 - from 07.2015 used in F20lci
65509387548 - from 07.2016 used in F20lci
There are multiple versions of each of the above aparently so the date stamped on the screen itself is important so it is before or around your car's manufacture date. You can find the ...548 made in 2017, or the 203 made in 2014. Hmm

3. Did it work or not?
4. Software+dongle/company used for coding

It is a mine field, so I compiled this post hoping to get the info from peps who did it successfully. Thanks!

1. June 2019 F20 118i with standard nav (HU_ENTRYNAV2).
2. Donor Screen 6822626 from a 2014 BMW M4.
3. Yes it worked fine
4. ESYS Coding myself, code whichever you have:
3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION and change it to: 8.8_1280x480
3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE and change it to: breites_display
3006 NAVIGATION / DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION / 8.8_1280x480

In 3005 DISPLAY_PIP_CONFIG.
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE set to 8_8
CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1240_480
DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

There is a lot of info here:

Thanks mate! Yes, there is plenty info out there. But also that people were not successful and did everything right, apart getting the right screen perhaps. So my main reason behind this is that people who tried post here, like you did, to match the screens to cars... I will sure find this helpful.

I can see it is a hugely popular post :).

Anyway. I managed to open up my car and take a look at the existing hardware. So at the moment I have the HU_EntryNav in: 6821135
And the screen 6.5" is: 9322122

The unit is Magneti Marelli and is is 12v 15amps.

Anyone with advice what 8.8" screen will fit?
65509385203
65509387548

Thanks

Your best bet is googling the part number of your head unit. You will likely find threads on here or elsewhere with info on which 8.8inch screen with assymetrical back will fit and work.

Hi. I tried. Issue is that once you google the head-unit it only ever comes with the 6.5" screen. You would have a different head-unit with the 8.8" one.
So from the get-go the 8.8" and my unit is a missmatch. We just know that it may work. That is why I asked people. Hoping that someone will come with my unit and screen that worked for him. :). High hopes...
