Hi. The reason for this post is to collect information from those who did it successfully or not. We all know what the coding is and stuff, but there are still some of us for whom the hardware just does not seem to fit and work. So below is a list of things that if you guys, who attempted this successfully or not, feel generous to fill in and post as a answers
1. Your original car: series, lci?,engine, year/month of fabrication, head unit type, ID version
2.Donor screen: serial number, date of manufacture.
From what I know these two screens should work for the 1 series, RHD, lci 1:
65509385203 - from 07.2015 used in F20lci
65509387548 - from 07.2016 used in F20lci
There are multiple versions of each of the above aparently so the date stamped on the screen itself is important so it is before or around your car's manufacture date. You can find the ...548 made in 2017, or the 203 made in 2014. Hmm
3. Did it work or not?
4. Software+dongle/company used for coding
It is a mine field, so I compiled this post hoping to get the info from peps who did it successfully. Thanks!
