Ok so I've got a 2011 118d e87(N47 engine) it's now hit 120k, runs perfect, bodywork is in really good condition, no chain noise from what I can tell although the engine is noisy anyway, I can get the chain changed for under a grand including parts and labour, should I or shouldn't I? I've serviced it every 7k...and I want to keep for for as long as possible, gutted if the chain did snap, is it worth it for peace of mind, what do you guys think?

If you want to drive long time, change it. This chain can break without any noise. In my opinion the main problem with this chain is to long interval of oil change. If all the time you change oil every 7k you can leave it, but for peace of mind i would change it 
To check if chain is in good condition you have to take it out from car and compare length with new one. There is no other way, to be sure, that chain is ok.
