Hello, I have an 2004 BMW 116i e87, 1.6i and I need to change the battery soon because it keeps resetting the date, hour, consumption, etc. The current battery I have on the car is a 55Ah one (picture below), my question is:
- do I have to register/code if I buy a new battery? Some guys say yes, some guys say no. It all comes to the IBS system.
If I have to code it, can it be done from a phone, with the Carly OBD adapter?

Also, is the 55Ah battery capacity enough for the car? I don't have navi or start/stop function.

Wothout IBS you do not have register change, but you can. Registering is needed when you got AGM battery, cause it is charged with diffrent voltage, when percent of charge drops. When you have ACID battery like you, voltage is not so imported.
You hot original 55ah battery, so i would by the same capacity.
