Not had the car long (and the weather's not been that great) but I've noticed that the back of the car is way, way dirtier than the sides/front when I come to wash it each week. Would rear mud flaps make a difference?

My gut reaction is probably not much unless you drive a lot at low speed on mud, it's the low pressure and turbulent flow areas which collect dirt as it drops out of the air and there isn't much you can do to avoid this.
There might be someone who chips in with practical experience though.
Ok cheers. I've not had a hatchback since my 995cc brown Talbot Samba in the early 90s lol. The stripes added 50whp I'd forgotten about how dirty the hatchback can get.
