Vbox times only just now, 12.4 @118/119mph with a 2.2 60ft.

I will get the car down a 1/4 mile some time this year.

I reckon high 400's to get into the 11's for sure, problem is people see mapped cars putting much better times than standard and just assume it takes a little bit more to get it lower still when in reality it's the opposite, the lower the times get the bigger the gains are needed, it's a bit like top speed, say 600 bhp to get 200 mph, but then another 600 bhp ontop to get 250 mph.
When going big power on a RWD on the 1/4 mile, you get to a point where the gains in mid range grunt and terminal speed are lost at the start with wheelspin.
It takes 400 bhp to get into the 11's with the A45 and that's 4wd, the new RS3 is 12.2 and 112 mph standard which is bloody quick.

Lol you can get into the high 11's with the oem turbo, it has been done. An American guy with a rwd 235i hit a 11.7/11.8 with a good 60ft.

My car has the potential for a high 11, I just need to sort out my 60ft. if I can get a 1.9 60ft I should hit a 11.8 or there abouts. That's with around 440bhp. Hopefully I will prove it this year ;).

Id be happy to be able to get into the 12's comfortably with atleast 110mph terminal.

What power can be expected from a decat and a proper remap rather than a box like the jb4?
I'd expect around 410-420 . Impressive !

Id take yank 1/4 times with a huge pinch of salt the same as there dyno figures, they use the 1 foot roll out rule a lot which takes a good couple of tenths of at least, one mag over there even had the E92 at 3.9 secs to 60 mph lol

12.72 is a pretty good time with just a jb4 and map5.
Not a bad time , up there with mapped golf R's

Tell you what though - that's a damn good terminal speed !!!
I've seen a 119 and 118 terminal speed a couple times but it's all about the start !
best result came from a 2.05 60ft but I know I can nail a sub 2 second run

Half a bottle of nf booster and map5 boost failsafe set at 20 psi mixed in with some august sunshine did the trick !
Must of the runs were sub 13 seconds but it's traction limiting better times
Might invest in some seriously sticky tires soon

I only pay attention to those that back things up with other info like vbox data....its the only tool that can really be trusted for comparison sake.

I'm pretty sure 1 foot roll out is used at every 1/4 mile track, no matter what country it is in. It's due to the pre stage and stage lights at the start of the 1/4.

You are right though it shouldn't be used for 0-60, 0-100 etc.

Nice Dan, hopefully that's the end of your woes with Map 5 :).

I'd like to see what you can do at Santa pod now you are tuned, you got a good time for a standard car.
