So I've decided to give it a go and code it all on my own. Done everything. Coded my start-stop system to remember last setting.
Then I started doing my aircon panel. I managed to code it, fitted it and... no success. It doesn't do anything.
Only the middle light above the fan speed buttons is illuminated and that's it. Can't do anything. Can't change fan speed, temp, nothing.I tried IHKA_1Z, tried also IHKA_2Z but still nothing.
Could it be that the panel itself is damaged? Or maybe it's not compatible with my car at all? What is your panel part number? Mine is BMW 6411 9384046-01

After checking on realoem it looks like that part no. is from the LCI model which may mean it's not compatible? What year is your car?

 

Mine is pre lci, 2013. Any idea which part number would be compatible then?

 

Fitted this very same part number to a customers 2012 f20.sure it's coded properly?

 

I'm sure it is. As soon as I coded IHKA_1Z my original manual panel stopped working properly. I then fitted the new automatic one, which only displayed one light in the middle and nothing else would work. Tried coding different IHKA's with no success each time.

No. Coded first then fitted.
When it didn't work I tried coding again with the part fitted but still nothing.
Then I coded back my old part and fitted it back after coding. This one works as it should.

Should I try again by fitting new part and then coding it? Is there anything else I can try?

I only coded it before fitting because I was coding my start stop system so I thought I'll code this too while my laptop was already connected.

Other thing is, while my start stop coded with engine off, I couldn't read coding data from IHKA so I had to try again with engine running. Should this be coded with engine off or on?

It does my head in this thing. Got too excited about geting automatic aircon a bit too early.

Yeah in my case I had to return my control panel as nothing would work. Then I've found one that came from 2013 F30 and that one worked right out of the box, quick coding and it's been working great since then.

Damn... looks like I will have to return mine as well then and source another one.

It was removed from a 2015 BMW 2 series, part no. 64119384052. My car is also a pre-LCI 2013 so looks like I'll have to look out for an older part.

You need part number 9287342 for the black surround or 9287344 with silver surround.if the controls aren't working and only the middle fan light illuminates it means it's kcan2 and won't work

It happend to me with the HU_ENTRYNAV and would have saved me so much time if I would have done that straight off.

I know this is kind of off topic, but what was the problem with your HU_ENTRYNAV?

I've just bought one that's all singing all dancing, but I'm waiting for the emulator to come for the nav before I got it...
