Ok so I had quick search and I'm a little confused over the pros and cons in ordering this expensive optional extra. The car comes with the professional media package. I am new to bmw and since and decided not to order the enhanced Bluetooth or internet..... Will I be missing out on any of the the online service features or apps?

I like to stream Audio from spotify and when speaking to the salesman I was under the impression that is still possible via bmw apps however after doing a bit of research it seems that some say you can and some you can't.

If anyone could clarify if I should just tick these option boxes that would be great... I know it's another £450 added toy the car but had to draw the line somewhere.

is it so expensive ?,

from memory 100 quid for the internet and a couple of hundred for enhanced Bluetooth

car circa £45k so less than 1% additional cost

but as above a little coding will suffice, worse case get it recoded if BMW do a software update

Thanks for this , having a look at the pros and cons decided against the enhanced Bluetooth as standard Bluetooth does all I need and can keep 450 notes in my pocket! Got my estimated delivery today too!

You don't get text message notifications with standard Bluetooth.

That's a handy thing to be missing.
Thanks but I think I can live without it... Reading text and driving not a good combo imo

It's not, but just to be notified you've missed a message isn't so bad. Too often I've missed something I'd rather have picked up at the time.

Fair point.... I did deliberate a bit but I've already ticked nearly everything else but if I really wanted I guess it can be added, but thanks

Hmm..... Sounds better than I thought.... But in real life I will never use it.... Can see dictation being that great either. I understand if you do a lot of long journeys but I'll just be in town or a few road trips... Car is purely for fun.

Thanks for this guy's... My order has been placed already and my spec locked in... I imagine they can still change it as the car won't be hear until November!

I had EBT in my last F20 and it was pretty crap most of the time.. felt like you were on hold to an offshore call centre with all the options etc.. (maybe improved since 2013??! either way - I very rarely used it).. if I was running late though I'd just call someone through inbuilt BT handsfree.. if they didn't pick up then they got a voice mail.. you know - kind of like the good old fashioned way... can't see the appeal of dictating a text to someone.. or having one read out to me.. horses for courses though.. I've not specced it for my new M135i which arrives on Friday and I'm 100% sure I won't miss it..
