Tried doing some research to no prevail regarding when a clutch and dull mass flywheel should be replaced. My 123d manual 2009 is on 86000 miles currently and I'd like to see many more. So just wondering people's opinions on the slight juddering I'm experiencing on the occasional pull away? Is it worth playing it safe and replacing the dmf and clutch? I'm confident it won't be covered under my warranty, so has anyone previous experience on this situation and could shed some light on a cheaper resolution than going to the dealers?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

It's the clutch juddering.. Very common on BMW even on cars with very low mileage..

Give it a bit of gas whilst releasing clutch and it might not judder as much..

Only real fix is to replace clutch and DMF but if it were me I personally wouldn't change it until my car literally couldn't engage gears.

That job is not cheap.. Could always go to an indie rather than dealer. I know I would

Brilliant thanks pal, think I'll keep it going for as long as I can gonna get the gearbox and differential oil changed with the service hoping that will improve the gear change as don't think it's the clutch that's making the gear changing a bit more rough

I have judder on my LE @70k and it's been there since I bought the car @58k.

I found that the CDV delete helped slightly and slipping the clutch helps also.

I have the same problem with my [email protected] Do you think this would class as a warranty item? It sounds like it should be and mine is still under warranty until April so I might look at getting this replaced
Worth making an enquiry. As the old saying goes ... if you don't ask you don't get.

I used to get slight judder on my car with around 70k miles but only within the first couple of miles from start with a cold engine. Disappeared completely after having a new clutch fitted whilst the engine was out for the full Timing Chain QE work.

Hi mate, I had my clutch/dmf/crb and some kind of pump replaced a couple of weeks ago under AUC warranty because my flywheel had collapsed (it made a noise everytime I put the clutch down) so imo depending on your warranty and who it is with its worth getting it checked as it should be free to have it diagnosed anyway!
