I'll give that a go, thanks.0l0dom0l0 said:I'm pretty sure I remember reading that most of the 2.0 (petrol) have a nox fault stored unless the car is thrashed. Clear it, take it for a hard drive and see if it comes back.
Ah OK thanks for that, was thinking it was going to be the sensor. Not a cheap part either. I'll see if it goes through the emissions test on the MOT tomorrow and go from there. Either way looks like I'll be parting with some cash on this one. Thanks all, I'll update with the outcome.dh131286 said:hi I had the same faults codes for my n43
30ea denox catalytic converter, sulphurised
2af4 nox sensor electric
2af2 nox sensor linear
2af6 nox sensor binary
2af9 nox sensor, nox signal: coast mode check
that's what I had. the 2af2,4 and 6 was a broken nox sensor (not cheap to buy) once replaced them codes have never come back.
the 30ea code only went after a motorway run but then came back. since moving house and using the motorway every day to commute to work the 30ea code has not returned.
don't know if you bought a sensor yet but eurocarparts are selling them for £350 but have 10% off this weekend so its £315 until midnight sunday. I bought mine from eurocarparts and it was in a bmw branded box!Hendy said:Garage confirmed nox sensor has failed, it just scrapped through the MOT on emissions [FACE WITH COLD SWEAT]. Now looking for a reasonably priced new one. Some come up on eBay from time to time so think that's where I'll get one. Don't fancy paying 350 from the stealers.

Just changed the NOX sensor, same fault codes as you. I sourced a part from a company called 'Genuine Autoparts' registered in Australia but shipped from Germany. I was a bit aprehensive so paid via PayPal just in case anything went wrong. I exchanged a few emails with them before placing the order and was happy with their response. I ordered it on Monday, arrived Friday via UPS. Genuine BMW part, £269.62.Hendy said:Garage confirmed nox sensor has failed, it just scrapped through the MOT on emissions [FACE WITH COLD SWEAT]. That's a good price. I'll remember them for the next sensor that goes. I ended up getting it from euro parts for 315.00. Thanks for the info.Aycee said:Just changed the NOX sensor, same fault codes as you. I sourced a part from a company called 'Genuine Autoparts' registered in Australia but shipped from Germany. I have no connection with the company but thought a saving of £100 was worth passing on.
