Ok so I am currently driving an Audi rs3. Big fan of Audi and love their cars.... Been looking for a new car for a while and called up my local bmw for the first time to ask about test driving the m4.

He called me back later to confirm our appointment for Sunday and I thought I might as well ask about the m2 as I've read all reports and rumours, etc and wanted to find out more. He told me they are sold out but went to check as less than half an hour ago someone pulled out of their allocated space!

I have never driven a bmw, never called bmw, only ever sat in my dad's old 7 series when I was a kid, never been in a bmw showroom and yet something made me wack a 2k deposit on a car I havnt even see the specs for!!! Totally out of my character as I research all cars before a purchase and was looking to buy a 911 or used r8 v10 or maybe a new Cayman gts.... I must have gone mad!!!

I was regularly on the Audi forums and do hope to get to know some of you guys better and share some great advice.

Just specced the car this Sunday.... Any must haves? Decided to go for manual.

Anyway love to hear your thoughts... Hope I font regret my decision!!!!

Congrats on the purchase and welcome aboard!

It's difficult to suggest must haves as the car is still yet to launch however one comment I would make is that the standard audio is pretty poor so I'd go with an upgrade to HK

Can you spec HUD? If so HUD and SLD, as well as black alloys. Every other important spec is standard I think.

No hud..... It's my first bmw so took a leap of faith .... Quite impressed with the bmw technology. I'm of course more interested in the drive but after reading I'm liking their high beam assist and the professional media pack.

Thanks mate, hk box ticked right away... I ended up ticking nearly everything except drivers assist and heated steering wheel

Yeah i agree Cayman Gts is awesome, never owned a bmw and really hope m2 was a good choice, plus I didn't blow the budget either... I will only drive like 3k per annum anyway in that car

Getting delivery date this week but expecting it in September.... Not in a hurry as have an rs3 to keep me busy

We're all in the dark at the moment as to how the M2 is going to pan out,but it's based on the 235 and that's a cracking car,so things can only get better.

The only downside to it all is the wait....Ho-Hum.

Well 3 to 5k, Not my daily driver unfortunately but will enjoy every mile... That's the plan.... Will of course get the breaking in mileage done as a priority. Hoping to maybe drive to Switzerland or something for a decent road trip... We will see but very excited. Enjoyed being on the rs3 forums so hope to be part of baby bm club too!!
