Hi all, I recently bought my first BMW a E82 120i M Sport Plus. I love the car and i'm already thinking about a few mods I can make, so was hoping to get some advice on good places to buy a few things and understanding on how easy they are to fit etc.

First up I want to get a twin exhaust pipe, I don't like the oval look so much. I think I want to go for a BMWP exhaust if I can get one for my model of car, hopefully it has a good sound increase too. Any suggestions on where to buy and get fitted other than the main dealer? I'm based in the South west.

Next up I want to get a nice carbon diffuser, are these easy to fit? What's involved? And any suggestions or pics of nice ones or places to buy?

And lastly I want to get a boot lid spoiler, just the small subtle one not the larger Evo one. I've seen them for sale online un painted but does anyone know if they come in carbon or pre painted in body colour?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.

Lovely looking car! Get a quote from Cotswoldbmwmini for the exhaust they are a sponsor on here, usually very well priced too. As for the spoiler, Cotswold may get you a quote, also there was one going cheap in the for sale section not long ago have a look if it's still there? Also other places online SSDD motorsports and m style

Also Reiger make a carbon diffuser for the e82 which several members on here have got, I'm sure they will be along soon with pictures.

A 135i backbox is a cheaper alternative to the BMWP exhaust. They can be bought for around £60-£100 and require very little to be fitted especially on a coupe.

For sale section is at the bottom.

You need to be logged in to view the for sale items, but yes right at the bottom, keep scrolling.

CF diffuser looks really good and very similar to the genuine BMWP item. Does anyone have one of these? Are they bolt straight on? Is it good quality and finish? I don't personally like the Reiger one for me.

Thanks

Thanks for the pointers guys, I think I'm definately keen to go for that diffuser, if anyone can help advise on how easy it is to remove the old one and fit this then that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hello and welcome, nice looking and fresh for modding E82.

I think you need 20 posts to release the for sale section.

Rieger diffuser is a piece of **** to fit and happy to talk you through it if you buy one (instructions are in German)

Harvey Buh has a very nice carbon rear diffuser that is a little more stream lined and flush fitting.

Ok cool I'll check out both of those diffusers cheers.

Do you know much about the M Performance exhaust? I was all for getting one until I've watch a few you tube vids and the noise increase sounds a bit too much for what I'm looking for. But can't tell if that's just because they have the mic pointed right at the exhaust or not.

I definitely want the twin pipe look but want the noise increase to be subtle for everyday driving and with slightly more grunt, crackles for some B road driving.

100% the performance exhaust - can't say anything about custom made pipes as never heard one in the flesh but seeing as you have a petrol I'd suggest the 125i performance exhaust - it'll be a deeper tone but still not loud - or not overly loud. No drone at all either with the MPE.
I had the 135i performance exhaust fitted on mine and I absolutely love mine. Not too loud until you put your foot down.
