I had new MPSS fitted at the weekend, after 9,800 miles on the old ones. The rears were well under 3mm and although it was fun having them spin up, the wet weather dictated that I should really replace them. Having bed them in and driven to work, it's the wet braking distance that feels the most improved over the old tyres.
The tyre fitting was again the usual uncomfortable experience. I left my car with the Suzuki dealer (I'd read good reviews) and they took 1.5 hrs to change all 4 tyres, balance them and refit them. I checked the wheels once the work was done, but couldn't see any damage at the time...until I got home. Then I found a mark, about the size of a fingerprint pressed into the edge of the rear left rim. Sigh. Why does it always happen?
Is there anyone out there who's never had a wheel damaged when they've had tyres fitted? Are BMW main dealers (and their £70 markup) any better?
