I coded stop/start memory last weekend via Bimmercode and I've lost it after the update. Just waiting on my Enet cable to arrive and I'll see if it allows me to recode that option again.
If not, I'll have to get used to simply pressing the button everytime I drive it (wifes car) as I do with my Skoda company car.
Anyone else lost the stop/start memory coding after the update and then been able to recode it with no issues?
Updates will wipe out any coding that's been performed, including remaps. There is usually a warning about this, mine warned me at the last update...

Hi, I have just had my BMW serviced and asked about this update. I got the 07/2022 update, downloaded, uploaded it but never got to install it and it expired. This 11/2022 then pops up I downloaded and uploaded the software upgrade about 2/3 weeks ago and now at the same installation stage but nothing is happening, upon asking the dealership I got some excuse about the battery needing to be a certain voltage and the car sitting at a correct gradient, all may be true but of no help to me and the overall feeling was I felt I was fobbed off and left with the wait for your car to respond, so does the installation phase actually happen or is it a myth? Finally, is this all worth it?

Mine’s not installing either, despite being fully charged, above 10C, flat ground, and in mobile signal range. Previous version installed fine, so I suspect there’s some minor glitch or software bug that’s causing it not to install.
Unless anyone has any other ideas?

I have this issue nearly every time I receive an OTA update.

I’ve always put it down to my battery charge state as I do lots of short journeys in East London.

Without fail, the update has always eventually run successfully in the end… currently had the latest update ‘ready to install’ for 4+ weeks.

Dealers can force the update though, and it should be FOC if you car is still in warranty.

I’m wondering if it needs to be initiated by the servers in Germany, and a signal sent to your car before it’s installed. I was told by bmw connect services that the older the car the longer your wait for the download. Mine‘s Oct 2019 btw..

The dealer did mention something about BMW servers but my car is a 2021 BMW, so I’m not sure what impact that would have. Suppose I’ll see what happens, but just think that if you are notified about an remote upgrade and uploading/downloading the data you would think the installation would be pretty much straight away, rather than a wait of a few weeks.

Give it a few more weeks and if it hasn’t happened then take it to the dealers as they can force the update, especially as it’s under warranty shouldn’t cost you anything..
Reading between the lines it doesn’t look like there’s anything particularly game changing with this update for the 1 series imo..

My update wouldn't install from a Google phone running Android 13 but installed OK from a old Nokia phone running Android 12. So for me, I thinking Google phones and / or Android 13 don't play nice with the BMW software routine.

Once the updated has been downloaded to the car the 12V battery SoC needs to be at least 75% to allow the installation to start.
You can find the battery SoC value using apps like bimmerlink or ISTA.
Trickle chargers (like ctek) battery level indications are only an estimated value.
Also remember that on modern cars, the battery is charged by the alternator only while coasting or when the SoC goes below a certain level.
In all other situations is merely preventing battery discharge.

There was an issue on some 2019 cars (mine included) that meant a dealer-installed patch was required in order to receive OTA updates. Since I had the patch installed, I’ve received them all with no issues.

Your software version is a very early one, so I would suggest this is the issue you have. If your dealer says there is no issue, connected Connected Drive - they provided me with a document to show my dealer detailing the issue.

Just sat at Rybrook Shrewsbury seeing about this patch or forced update, and they are trying to charge me £107+VAT to update the car. Something I am declining at the moment.

I have contacted Connected Drive who was next to useless and couldn't provide me with anything regarding this issue, other than it's up to the dealer to sort out.

I don't suppose you still have the document stating what needs to be done at all, do you? long shot I know.

Is your car still within it's warranty?
I bought it as approved used in Jan this year.

I don't see why I have to pay for something that is free via connected drive. If it actually worked correctly that is.

I have found another thread on here where a member has posted the email they received from connected drive back in 2021 confirming the issue.

The service manager is currently away looking into it but i have said i wont be paying.
