So my new M135 made it to the UK and is now scheduled for collection this Friday afternoon.

Cant wait, though I do feel strangely sad to see mine go. Its been a brilliant car and will make another owner very happy.

The new car has a couple of extra toys though and we already have a short trip to take the kids up to Oban for a few days the week after we pick up the car. Will be a brilliant way to break the car in.

There are some great roads up and around Oban.I use it as a stop off for a couple of days a year to travel further on up.Check out the newish chocolate shop on the Esplanade, sure to be a hit with the kids !

Scotland is an excellent way to run a new car in :D

So its collection day tomorrow and somehow I'm the only one in my family not to have seen it yet.

On Tuesday my Mrs and the kids drove by the dealership on the way to the supermarket and saw a transporter parked outside. They realised my car was on it so swung back around to take a look.

So now I'm the only one who hasn't seen it in the metal. Luckily I had the obligatory video to keep me up to date.

Collection tomorrow afternoon. :D

So despite the storms up here in Scotland I managed to pick up the car and get it safely home. My spec was a 5 door auto with pro nav, sun pro, heated seats and hk, and my previous 14 plate M135i was the same spec, minus the nav and HK.

Only done 15 or so miles due to flooded roads but a couple of initial thoughts:

- almost by the first roundabout it felt like the steering was fractionally more direct and the car cornered flatter
- on the motorway the suspension seemed a bit smoother
- engine note and pace seem much the same
- gearbox possibly a little smoother

All of the above could be placebo, or perhaps simply down to the fact that I was handing in a 26k car against a brand new car. In terms of the new stuff...

- barely used the HK but it seems much the same as the advanced loudspeaker until you put the volume up, after which the HK holds better sound quality while the advanced set up loses control. HK should bed in over the next few days so hoping it will only get better.
- ProNav - really adds quality to the interior. The black on the screen is a deep black and it adds an awful lot to the car both in terms of capability and quality
- black panel - seems, but I've got to be honest, the off-centre panel riles me a bit. I wish it was either centred or ran right the way across the dash.

Best bit of the day? Showing my 3 year old son that we can play Sean the Sheep DVD in the car ... for him of course..

So far I'm well pleased.

Great write up. You can code the DVD to play whilst you are on the move.

Thanks all. Snow here today which is frustrating but I've still been out and it definitely feels better. Best way to describe it is that it feels like they have widened the track a little. It feels flatter and more solid. Really impressed. Oh and HK is already bedding in and I can now hear a significant improvement on the advanced loudspeaker option.

It's officially dead and requires a replacement. Apparently they have a tolerance for acceptable noise and mine is outside of that. Just working through some options with BMW as I do not want a replacement box in a new car. The dealer are being brilliant and have loaned me a nearly new M235i. I accept things go wrong but it's how they are dealt with that matters and so far the dealer has impressed me.

Good. The fact that everyone is on the same side takes a huge amount of stress away. Hopefully it won't put you off the car.

Dropped the old car off. Its been absolutely brilliant. It was also in an absolute state, but the weather up here has been shocking and its not been easy to find a time to clean it.

So then on to the new car... :D

And I'm just loving the pro nav!
