Hi this has proberbly been asked before. If I fit decat pipes to my car. I no it has secondary cats in midpipes wil it still pass a mot. As I want to do mhd and it requires new fmic and down pipes.

yes 2 x 200 cell sports cats where the mid's are in the original. It may be more obvious to the tester if you have just the down pipes on to a standard exhaust that something is not right. As you know the law is that any part of the emissions control system removed is a fail regardless of what comes out the end. With mine being a full system it all looks the same and there are 2 cats. How many testers know that it should have 4? If you have 2 shiny down pipes going into the oem system it might ring alarm bells. Most would be ok as long as the gases coming out are under the limits but you never know.

I'm stumped now as I have my eye on a set. Mot not till next November so it would probs have time to weather in lol. I may ring them and ask his son what he thinks as he took quite a shine to mine when it was there lol. Was him who suggested new exhaust as he said it was to quiet. Hmmm.

Its one of the best mods. Really releases the potential of the turbos.
