Hey, we have F20 2012 116i with N13. Idle is not smooth. We have been looking live data launch X431 and ISTA and the intake VANOS behave in strange way varying on idle a lot about 10%. I saw that also ignition timing is corresponding to VANOS. There is also option to see the status of valvetronic and all time is ACTIVE. Please see attachment graph. Can you tell us how many km the car has covered and its repair/service history? I'm no expert on these engines but at first glance I don't see anything frightening in the data you have collected. I would be inclined to find out more about its compression, oil consumption and carbon buildup on the valves and pistons. I note that these engines are eventually prone to oil leaks at the plug in the side of the block for the oil pump solenoid. The oil can penetrate the connector and work its way up through the wires inside the insulation and possibly cause confusion where it joins the ECU.
