So my car is stock asides of metal boost pipe, which has zero effect on performance.
First graph is Stage 1, 98map running momentum 99.
BHP is exactly as I predicted having had a run out against my mates 911 Carrera yesterday which pushes out 350bhp. It’s slightly lighter so based purely on that I estimated the power to weight ratio to be the same if I was running around 360bhp. (We did a full bore run from 30-120mph and there was literally nothing in it.
I’m happy with 363bhp and it’s delivery.

The shocker is the torque. On todays investigation I discovered my best run was 479lbs torque or 650nm. MHD quote 520nm. 650nm is outrageous, that’s moving in to RS6 territory or more than my mates GTR of a similar age and 150nm more than another mates Amg45s.
Second graph has a run with the power set at 60% on one of my switchable maps….so basically it negates torque although keeps bhp in the late 200’s. I did this out of intrigue.

I also did a run with the same fuel but on a 95map. FYI I only lost 11bhp to 352bhp

The guy told me that sometimes these engines produce some mad torque/bhp figures. Said they are very strong. Has had 140i’s knocking out 400bhp stock.
I’ve added all this because there is a massive lack of official graphs for these maps to be had online.

To be honest I didn’t ask….I was too wrapped up
In what was going on and was a bit shell shocked by the torque figures!
I just got the graphs above. But if it was pulling then surely I’d of had less power? Another MHD stage 1 graph I found was also 363bhp. So it seems about right. Also MHD assured me that using momentum99 on a 98 map would result in ‘perfect running.’
I’m no mechanical whizz…but the fact it lost only 11hp turning it down to a 95map would also suggest all is well? Unless you can advise otherwise! Thanks

Nice! For me the trade-off with these maps is the peakiness of the torque. The sort of antithesis of 'linear'. Makes it more like a diesel in terms of the delivery characteristic. Look how BMW have it set originally - thats a very flat torque 'curve'! Its swings and roundabouts. What you get is mid-range acceleration that is vastly improved (and really out of proportion to the relatively modest (!) power gain of 20%). What you lose is smoothness of delivery. So as always, its not what it does on the dyno but how it feels to you. If you like it then its a win all the way.

Well put. I’ve always wanted midrange delivery as it suits general driving conditions in the UK. I’m all about 30-70 delivery, particularly without the need to change down and use max revs to extract the power. So in this case suits me perfectly. Yes it is quite ‘break neck’ when you nail it…but if you feather the throttle correctly you can make it as gradual as you like. 650nm is however for whatever reason well over the 520nm MHD suggest you’ll get off their map!

Would be good to see what the 100-200kph time is with that readout of power.

That to me is a decent yardstick of useable power - also removes the rwd traction issues.

Well oddly enough I’ve just ordered a Race Box….so I’ll be able to give you those figures soon. Will post on this thread within a week or so.

Nice!
I have a Dragy. Both great bits of kit. Let us know

MHD stage 1 on mine was 10.5 from memory

Got it today…not had any chances to do high speed runs…but did do a 0-60 on set up and 1st attempt was a 4.55 so that’s promising as stock is 5.1 for the manual. Plus I’m sure I could improve my launch.

That's very good, especially for a manual.
Yup I was impressed, had it in Sport+ so traction off and got a clean launch I guess. Although I tried it in sport with traction and got a 4.61. Left it at that…don’t want to over exert the clutch. Although I will do a 0-100 / 1/4mile run and when the conditions are right a 100-200kph.
