Hi iv recently noticed that i get this metal screeching noise from the rear when i accelerate and come off the throttle, It happens intermittently. I took it into BMW recently for a waste gate rattle and mentioned about this noise also but obviously it didn't happen when i took the mechanic out in the car. Long story shot i ended up getting a new turbo under warranty due to the waste gate rattle but this sound from the rear is still there. I noticed that someone has the same noise on there M135i and posted a video of it on the M135i & M235i Facebook page.
He has an aftermarket exhaust so it rules out the flap opening and closing on mine. It seems to do it in all settings, comfort, sport etc. I did think it could be a heat shield but can't see anything obvious it would be vibrating on.
Has anyone got any ideas what it is or could think it could be?

Video for anyone that is a member on the Facebook page.

Thanks

I know it won't be this for you, but i've had a noise several times and it's always been little stones stuck in the brakes, which makes a very very loud screeching noise (not on facebook, so can't verify the exact noise). Bit of lock to lock in reverse seems to pop them out easily enough but sadly think you have a completely different issue. Good luck.

Hi thanks for the suggestion, don't think this is the issue. I think ill put it back to BMW again and hopefully its audible to the mechanic at the time when i take him out.

Any one else have any idea?

100% sure it's not the exhaust valve? I just can't rule it out!
Yeah I'm pretty sure, as the guy in the video doesn't have a valve and it's the exact same noise as mine.
