Read through posts on gearbox oil and couldn't find the actual castrol type recommended by BMW, I read about Redline MTL, and also noticed in my Haynes manual it states

Yellow and Green Label adjacent to filler plug up to 03/2007 = MTF-LT-2
Blue label adjacent to filler plug from 03/2007 = MTF-LT-3

I see Redline have these but I could only see an ebay seller in Malta, is the MTL 75W80 GL-4 Gear Oil the alternative? :?:

Done off ramps, all went ok, old oil didnt look bad on 153k!!

Drained out 1.3ltr, put back 1.7ltr, then I stopped, It didn't come out of the fill hole but not being level with just the front on ramps could have contributed
